Mariam Barbakadze

  • In 2006, Mariam Barbakadze graduated  from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, major in Psychology. Then, at Ilia State University, she was awarded a master's degree at the Faculty of Science and Arts, specializing in social work. After being awarded with a master’s degree, she continued her doctoral studies at the social work program at Ilia State University.

    She has many years of working experience in the field of social work, her main target group was represented by children without care, beneficiaries with mental health problems and persons in conflict with the law. Mariam has the experience of working in both non-governmental and public services. Due to the specifics, among other functions, her job included conducting the necessary training for the beneficiaries and their family members. Currently, she works as a hired trainer/consultant for an NGO.

    Since 2013, she has been a lecturer at Ilia State University, where she has been delivering lectures on Social justice and the social work profession. She is also involved in the Eurasia Project, which brings together four countries to promote inclusive education. She has the experience of successfully participating in the Erasmus + program, based on which she used to deliver lectures at one of the leading universities in the Czech Republic.

    Mariam is currently the Head of the Innovative Teaching  Training Center at the European University and Kutaisi University and is actively involved in the development and conduct of training courses.
